Brian Garrett, the pit master and instructor has been involved in barbeque for 40 years. Brian teaches barbeque classes in the Treasure Valley(Boise, Idaho).
Brian Garrett, pit master of Dawgmanbbq, brings a unique style to Q. As a hunter, fisherman and former University of Washington athlete he brings a sense of the experience of “fire”. As a former bank CEO he is interested in both the science and the art of cooking over heat. His passion for bbq is only second to his passion for the Huskies(thus the name dawgmanbbq).
Brian’s approach to bbq is truly a unique style using fresh herbs and rubs instead of sugary sauces. In all the classes, Brian reviews the whys and how of each technique or dish. Depending on which class you choose, you will learn how to grill a steak or smoke ribs. You will wow your friends with your delicious bbq.
Every year Brian and his wife, Deb experience the bbq trails throughout Texas, the Carolinas, Georgia or Tennessee. They bring back learned techniques to make their classes even more informative and fun. In January 2023, Brian graduated from the highly acclaimed Camp Brisket at Texas A & M. North Carolina State BBQ course and Camp BBQ in Texas were his schools in 2022.
